This is a little over due...but back at the beginning of August I got the oppurtunity to go back east to visit my friend Karli who was being a nanny for her sister. I was there 2 weeks living in Maryland where the temperature was beyond blazing...and you dont even have to move a muscle to break a sweat! But it was so much fun being back there and being able to see everything that you dont get to see everyday! We did a whole bunch in those 2 weeks...hit up all the Washington DC sites (capitol, white house, washington monument..etc), went to baltimore (loved the marina there. NOw it makes me want to visit Maine), to the beach for the day (where karli became a burnt flamingo), and New York City for a weekend (defiently a good story there). We had a blast hanging out together like always, and took a ton of pictures (that i wish i could show you!!). Fun rides in the car with karli driving..like going 35 mph when your suppost to be going 60 mph, getting lost in DC, and staying up late sneaking pictures when karli wasnt looking, only to be blinded by a bright flash of the camera! In DC, we basically saw everything there as to see...all the monuments we did at night which was a good choice cause it wasnt as humid and the monuments looked cooler. We tried to walk all the smithsonian museums, but once we found out how many there were we kind of gave up half way through. Then we waited in line to see the decleration of Independence and bill of right and all those. (dont have too many pictures of it, since none of them turned out good. So you have to trust that I saw it, and it was the originals all locked up in boxes!) The last friday I was there, we drove to the Ocean City, which is in Maryland. We spent the day there just playing out in the water and laying on the beach. and then we walked the pier. as all of this was going on..Karli got beyond burnt! She was in pain....for the whole next week. Luckily I only got a spot of sunburn. To make a long trip short, that pretty much sums up and gives you a glimpse of what went on over there on the east coast! Of course there is a ton more that we did, but it would take up 5 posts to tell you about it. So this is an abbreviation of Washington DC/Maryland!..............New York City is a whole post by itself coming soon! We used to live in Couer D' Alene ID...or more like Hayden ID. same thing. On the way back from Canada, we stopped and stayed the night with our good friends from their, the millers. It was fun to be able to see Couer D' Alene again, and being back. I loved living there, and would go back anyday if I could! you got the lake..mountains..resort..basically anything outdoors you would want. and I have good childhood memories growing up there for 7 years of my life.

I was able to go to Canada with my parents a few days after I got back from school. We went to Cardston Alberta Canada, and it was a blast. We had family reunions...walked around waterton which was beautiful, and a bunch of other things. It was just cool to see all that was there. Waterton is kind of a resort town, and we went on a cruise boat ride around the lake that went from Canada to Montana. defiently worth it. We even fed a deer..and then he trampled on the next person who tried to feed him. whoops!

LAst week Summer semester ended! so on the way home back to Oregon for me, and Washington for Tait and Sierra, we stopped at our friend Codys house for the night and to hang out around his farm. We got there that night, and we went 4 wheeling and out the dirt bikes. It was so fun, especialy at night as we went through and all around the farm. The next morning me and Sierra woke up at 530 am to go out and swing, and waited for cody and tait to get up. Once we were all up we ate some breakfast and then went and got 2 of the horses so that we could ride them around. It was my first time being on a horse...it was a little scary not gonna lie! but a lot of fun.

For my canoeing class, we were required to go on a overnighter and get tested on the things we learned. It was such a fun trip. We drove about 2-3 hours to get to Salmon National Forest and we ended up camping right by a beautiful lake. The water was beyond freezing, so luckily we were in canoes. There was though, one canoe that tipped over so we had to do a rescue to get them and their canoe. It was awesome for us..not so much for them. That night also, me and 2 others, (another girl and our chaperone) went fishing with a fly rod, and a hanger that we found around camp with somefishing line hooked up to it, and a spinner. We went out on the canoe, and was probably out there for a good 2 hours. The hanger caught 2 fish, and the other caught 2 fish. Rainbow Trout! we cooked them up late at night..and ate them! It tasted just like chicken...literally.

for the 4th, I went to Utah to spend some time with my brother Trent and sister in law Kasey. And it was a blast! I had a ton of fun. I love hangin with my bro, and it was good to be able to see them. I went down on thursday and came home sunday night. We did a ton of stuff. We went to Seven Peaks Water Park in Provo. Its suppost to be the largest in Utah, and we defiently had a good time there. There was one slide..where I think me, Trent, and Kasey all saw our life's flash before our eyes. Hence the reason we only did it once..it was super steep and you literally flew off the slide and back onto it. It was freaky..but well worth the one time! We went on this other steep slide a few times, and got the worse wedgies from it. haha but it was so fun. There was also a wave pool that we had some fun in. It was a great way to cool off for the day! Also while in Utah...Me, Trent, Kasey and hanna went on a hike up the the "Y". It was a really steep hike, but it had a great view once we got to the top. We also went to Lagoon in utah. Even more fun! I had never been before, and we got there at 11am...and stayed until about 6pm. We tried almost every ride, besides the little kiddo one's. It was blazing hot..but we all got some sweet tans. We rode so many crazy rollercoasters and other rides. The Wicked ride was one of my favorites...it literally shoots you straight up, and then straight down and does all these other turns and upside down things. It was awesome! there was also a rollercoaster that was built in 1929 that we went on..another one of my favorites. We went to Lagoon with my roomates melissa, hanna, and amanda, as well as Kasey's sister Katie, and then there was me, trent and kasey. Defiently a fun trip to Lagoon! For the 4th..we had a bbq that night and went on a hill and watched all the fireworks that were going off throughout the valley of Utah. This was defiently a good break from school. It was 4 fun days, and thanks to Trent and Kasey for having me!!

After trekking through the mud...shoes were covered in mud.

On friday at last minute I was asked to go on a backpacking trip..so I packed up and headed out. It was to the Palisades in Swan Valley Idaho which is about an hour and a half away from rexburg. When we left it was pretty stormy with thunder and lightning and heavy rain. So the first 30 minutes of the hike we were drenched. Hiked through mud the whole way though. but still a blast. The next 2 hours of the hike, we dried off and made it to camp by 930 pm. The next day, which is today (saturday), we woke up early and made breakfast and started off hiking to the upper lake. It was amazing..the lake was sp pretty. and the weather was hot and sunny the whole day. I got a little burnt on the arms and face. But it was well worth it. WE saw mountain goats, moose, and I even ran into my science teacher and his family up there. It was a lot of fun!

This past weekend I along with others went to the airshow, Longboarding Competiton, and Airshow here in Rexburg. Longboarding wsa awesome..it was a huge hill. And evethough it was freezing outside, it was well worth it. Then me and Paola biked to the Airshow out at the airport and met up with Sierra and Tait. We hung around there for awhile, and saw tons of military vehicles,and different types of planes. Last but not least was Guitars Unplugged here on campus which is the biggest event of each semester. Different people participate, and its really cool to hear what they have to say. A guy from our ward, who is actually one of my FHE brothers played in it and did really well.

Today a bunch of us went to Hike Menan Butte..otherwise known as "R" Mountain. (it has a huge R painted on it.) About half way up, half our group quit hiking, but me, Hanna and Brent Mickelson kept going all the way to the top and beyond. We found a cool rock to do some bouldering on. It was a lot of fun..and a little rainy. But that was perfect! There will be more pictures to come as soon as I get them from the others camera. AND...I have been on two backpacking trips in the past month..so i will put some pics up from those when I find them : )

Since its memorial day weekend..that means no school. So me and sierra put our heads together and thought of a brilliant idea to do a bonfire. We did it last minute and put everything together. It was a lot of fun, and we found the perfect place to do it at. It was all people from our ward, so everyone knew everyone. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, as well as a game of Chubby bunny thrown in there. The fire was down below, and since it was too big to sit by, we sat up on the rocks.

My mom gave me this recipe..that she got from Derek and Shawny. Its egg roll wrappers with black beans and corn, chicken, and spinach(thats what I used). They were so stinkin good. You just wrap the beans and all that in the egg roll..roll it up..stick it in a pan with a tiny bit of oil and bam...its done! Then you dip it in some ranch and salsa, and its even more tasty.

Me and Hanna went hiking at Mesa Falls in Ashton, ID. It was a good hike and a lot of fun. We hiked to lower falls, and then Upper falls and back. The weather was upper 70's, so perfect. We saw a Moose, and ended up wandering in the forest for awhile cause we wanted a little something different than the trail. Hiking is amazing..and everyone should go!

Chase and I on valentines day. We made smores inside the apartment! it was a lot of fun, and I defiently miss doing stuff with him.

Karli and Chase were two people who made winter semester a blast. Karli I have known since the age of like 3. and she is more like a sister to me.Love her to death! Everynight we would stay up late talking and think of the most random things. Lets just say we have some good stories. And i miss the crud out of her! And then there is Chase. Chase lived in the library studing, so that is where we would hang out on the weekdays which was actually a lot of fun, and the weekends we went out and had fun. Had some dates, and even some double dates that were a lot of fun. Just being with him and hanging out with him was a blast. I wish he was here summer! i cant wait to have these 2 here in the winter, but hopefully i get to see them before that. Karli is in Washington DC for summer, and Chase is in North Carolina for summer. Both will be here at school in fall, but unfortunantly I wont be here since thats my off track. : ( But i loved winter semester with these two!

In April, I got to go home for about 4 days and spend it with my family. It was a lot of fun, adn I really enjoyed it. Ryan and Kristina and thier 2 kids Logan and Landon flew in from Texas, and Derek and shawny and their kids Brody and tucker were there as well, and Trent and Kasey. I went to Boise to meet up with Trent and Kasey and Shawny. And then we all drove to Eugene. Derek flew in from Goergia after being in the army, so that was really good to see him. soon Derek and shawny will be moving to Germany for 2 years for the Army. They defiently will be missed! Brody was super excited to see his dad. It was adorable. With everyone at home, besides Tyler and Heidi and their kids who werent able to make it, we went to the coast and to Alton Baker park where we were able to help feed the ducks. those ducks were crazy. Plus we just hung around the house and played games and went out back into the wetlands to play around. Overall, I loved being with my fam and I had a great time.

Me, Karli, and Paola went out longboarding today. Such a good day for it. I have gotten Karli and paola interested in Longboarding, so we've been going out and doing it and they are learning the tricks of the trade of longboarding. been a lot of fun. So today we went out for about 2 and a half hours and rode up toward the orchards, and we found all these random hills and hidden places. Then we came upon the ice skating rink. it was amazing. We rode on that for awhile and just messed around. We made up this game with a golfball we found, where its like basketball/soccer on longboards. it was a ton of fun. I'l try toput up videos of it later. it was just nice to get out of the apartment, and we had some good times while venturing out around town. We also went apartment hunting, which I will post later about. : )

Idaho Falls Escapades

A few weekends ago, me and chase went to Idaho Falls for the afternoon. We went there hoping to go to the Titanic Museum, but we got there about 15 minutes late. They had already closed. So..we just hung around going random places. these are all in the mall trying on different things. We also went to this place called Blue Hushi...Its a sushi place. I dont eat sushi, so I had this Chicken Teriaki. Probably the best I have had at a restaurant.

About a month or 2 ago, Me and Hanna headed to Utah for grandmas funeral. We took the shuttle to get there, and it is such a long drive. Once we got to the airport, we had to sit in there for awhile until family came to pick us up. We had some adventures while in the airport. That day there happened to be a ton of sister and elder missionaries coming home. So went to where they get off, and pretended like we were waiting for one of them and just watched them all get off. It was pretty funny. It was the Salt Lake Airport..what do you expect!

When I first started school here at BYU Idaho, I am pretty sure I went through like 20,00 majors. or maybe just 3 or 4. But i never really could decide what I want to do. I first started out in Family and Consumer Science (No go). It basically was sewing and those kind of classes. Not me. Then it went to Early Childhood Development, cause I was thinking I wanted to do what my mom did in college. But then I wasnt really enjoying the classes..Next up we have Exercise and Sports Science. Loved the sport classes, but not the Science part. Me and science do not mix..at all. But for some reason that major led me to Health Science which i thought I would of really loved. Until I got to Anatomy Class, and that tore me in pieces. Its a interesting class, and I learn the stuff, as in the lab stuff. But the lecture stuff just goes over my head. So...I finally decided to go into Recreation Management. This is who I am...I love the outdoors, I wish i could spend all day in the outdoors, and i love being active. Nature is my favorite, and growing up I am so thankful that I had parents and brothers who loved camping, and hiking and canoeing and all those things. My best memories of me and my family in the outdoors together whatever the reason may be. Whether it be going to the Coast, or taking a day hike, or just flat out sitting in the backyard in the grass. I love it. I dont mind getting dirty, and who cares if my hair gets wet from swimming in a river with fish all around me. Also, my brother Derek showed me a love for mountains, and all that it has to offer, and I talked to him on the phone on a couple weeks ago and he told me that this major was for me.. So I blame my final major on him and the awesome memories I have with my family. (the blame is good). This upcoming semester I will be starting this major and I am excited for it. I know I will have fun in it, and i have some freinds in this major that will make it even better. I love the outdoors, and this is what I want to do.

On saturday paola's family came up for the weekend. So we had all planned to go with her and her family to the titanic museum in Idaho Falls. well we get to idaho falls, and we ended up being like 12 mins late. The museum had already closed. which was a bummer cause this museum was suppost to be pretty snazzy. so we all ended up going to this park that was super pretty. it had falls everywhere and snow was covering them. it was on the way to the idaho Falls temple Then me and chase stayed in Idaho Falls and spent the day their till around 9ish and then headed back. We went to the mall and barnes and noble and just looked around. Then we met up with one of his roomates who was on a date to a place called Blue Hushi. Its a sushi place. It was good for a whole 10 hours..and then me and karli decided it needed to go back to being curly. It wasnt her with straight hair. A few weekends ago, we had the annual Donkey basketball inside the Hart building gym. It was so funny. we all got some good laughs. Chase and his friend paricipated in it which made it even better. The donkeys were pretty crazy..there was a few that would kick a lot at you if you got off and then tried to get back on. Chase got the smallest donkey..who we think may have been on a high dose of hyper drugs. You had to be on the donkey to shoot the ball..but to get the ball you have to get off your donkey and drag the animal with you as you walk to the ball. and no one could drag them. Chases team ended up winning. and overall it was hilarious and a ton of fun. Defiently a Idaho experience

For my birthday, Karli gave me some new black and white converse shoes, and she got herself some white one's. So we thought we needed a quick photo shoot in them. I have known Karli since forever..ever since we lived in Coeur D'Alene. It was awesome to be able to spend a birthday together again like the good ol days. We even had a re match between me and karli of musical chairs...of course karli won just like she did back in the day.But we have a lot of fun here together as you can tell from the pics. And i'm glad i get to room with her..good times. To bad we arent on the same track..that would be even better. But here is to our converse shoes!

BIRTHDAY CAKE!

I am officially 20 now..oh boy! Eventhough I feel the exact same..and not different at all. But its the thought. It was a fun birthday, besides going to school all day. But once school was over, we started to have some fun. My roomates made me a cake in the shape and looks of a longboard. It was delicious. and then they made a pinata, which i was able to smack later. We had some pizza for dinner, and then some of my frineds came for cake and games. Chase, Luke, and John came, along with Jessie Wintch (from Eugene), and Kati Miner and some others that I know here. It was crazy. Then after cake, me and my roomates and the boys all went and played hide and go scare in the benson building. They gave me little things, like a bubble shin dig as seen in one of the pics, and some toy skateboards, and other little fun things. And karli gave me a new pair of Converse, so now we both have apair of converse.

My family that was there..Shawny, Brody, Trent, Kasey, Tyler, Mom, Me, Dad, and Ryan.

This past weekend, I attended the funeral for my Grandma Stutz. She was 90 years old, and an amazing grandma. It was a beautfiul funeral, and knowing that she is happier right now is even better. Tons of cousins, aunts and uncles were in attendance, and from my family it was my parents, ryan and tyler and shawny and my nephew brody and trent and Kasey. Derek wasnt able to come since he is in training for the army right now. But i'm glad shawny and brody were able to make it. It was good to see family again and be with them. At the funeral all the cousins were asked to sing a song. It was called "Could I have this dance". It was my grandma and grandpas favorite song to dance too, so it was extra special when we were all singing it. I will defiently miss my grandma..but knowing she is with my grandpa right now is a very good feeling. I never got to meet my grandpa, but i cant wait for that day when I do get to. My favorite memory of my grandma, was her cookies in the cookie jar. She always made fresh cookies and made sure the jar was stocked up when I came over to visit. They were delicious cookies, and I now have the cookie jar that I always remember sneaking into to get one of those cookies. Love you Grandma!

So today..I got up at 7am to get ready for my anatomy class. At 745ish..Me, Hanna, and Paola start waslking to anatomy which is like a 10 minute walk up the hill and everything. Usually its a perfect walk..no problems at all. But here is the thing..We had FREEZING TEMPERATURES today..it got to -24. yeah -24..ridiculous. Our faces were bright red when we got into the building..and our ears and hands were burning. They cancelled all of the public schools today..except for stinkin college. Lame. So now it is pouring snow outside..and everything is covered. I gotta admit though..I love snow. Makes for good sledding and snowshoeing and all that..which you will see pics of sometime soon hopefully whenever I get them up.

What do you do on a friday night? Easy..we spent it playing pranks on people. First prank of the night was we bought some oreos and white toothpaste. Spread some toothpaste on the inside of the oreo..and there you have it a minty fresh..nasty..disgusting oreo. We wrapped them up nicely on a plate and gave to these guys we know. They were;nt home so we just dropped them off at their doorstep. Hope they enjoyed them..Next we wanted to do something to chase's bedroom in his apartment since he wasnt home. So we went over there and me, karli, amanda, and brenda with the help of Nick and Kyle ( Chase's roomates) put all this random stuff in his room. Then Kyle had a grand idea of having us take all of chase's clothes back to our apartment..as well as putting some of them in empty kitchen cupboards. So we did just that..and it was hilarious. since chase and them live up at the ridge at the top of the hill..and us girls lived at the bottom of the hill...a good 15 minute walk, we had to roll this duffel bag full of chases clothes back to our apartment to keep safe for the weekend. We got some funny looks as we walked around treking this huge duffel bag back home. Plus it was snowing..and it covered the ground. now picture that in your head. When e came back home sunday night he got a good kick out of it. Then..last one of the night..we out icy hot all over their toilet without them knowing. That was probably the best yet..and the best part is they have no clue it was us. That basically sums up the weekend we had here..

Trent and Kasey also came this past weekend. they came saturday and left sunday night. It was a ton of fun. WE just hung out and did a bunch of random stuff. Saturday night, we all went and played hide and go scare in the Benson building on campus. It was me, Trent, Kasey and all the roomates and then some others. It was a ton of fun...and we got some good scares and laughs out of it. Then we came back to the apt and had some more fun and ate some delicious banana cake that KAsey and Trent made. I love being with family, so i'm glad they were able to come up. Hopefully i will be able to make it to Boise soon to see more fam!

I am back in the coldness of Idaho. I started school about a week and a half ago. It has been some hard stuff, and I really have no life on the weekdays. this semester is a lot tougher, especially with school and work. So i barely get to see anyone until I get out of work late at night. It sucks, but i guess they say its part of growing up. My roomates are awesome this semester. I get to room with Karli! and it has been a lot of fun..we stay up talking for a few hours everynight. I love it. Its just like the good old days in Hayden. I'm glad I am able to room with her..and my oter roomates are amanda, brenda (amanda's cousin), Hanna (my sorta cousin), and paola who none of us knew. But she is way cool and glad we got her instead of some whacko. It has only snowed here once sin ce i've been here. And the snow is actually kind of melting away. We can see grass..which isnt very normal . But it is still pretty cold. You know its cold when your nose starts to tingle inside from the cold. But thats life here in Rexburg in a nutshell at least for now..Its a lot of fun, but still a lot of work.

This Thanksgiving we had it at the Ford's House. They are Kasey's..my soon to be sis in law family. it was a lot of fun, and i got stuffed like never before. We had the sister missionaries over from the singles branch to join in on the feast. After we ate, we played some games, then us youngins played some Rock Band. Trent and Kasey were also able to come up for the weekend from Provo. It ws fun having them here..and they'l be back in 3 weeks for the wedding!

Decorating Cookies

Sunday we decorated our traditional halloween cookies..and Griffin and Brent stopped by and helped us. We had a lot of fun and ended up making a lot of cookies. they were delicious basically. At liek 11:00pm when its completely dark outside we go hike Mt. Pisga. Its perfect for night hiking, so it works. we've done it a couple times now..and when you get to the top its a perfect view of Eugene/Springfield area. Last Thursday Me, Amanda, and Kasey took a roadtrip to Utah for conference and to help Kasey move so she could be closer to Trent. It was a fun weekend, and worth the trip. On the way to Utah, we stopped in Boise for about an hour to visit with my sister in law Shawny and 2 of my nephews Tucker and Brody. They are adorable. It was a really short visit with Shawny, and i wish it could of been longer. But it was fun to see them and be with them for a bit. That night we didnt get to Utah until like 10:00pm..a 16 hour drive. so long..so long. I stayed at my cousin Ericas that night which was a lot of fun...we ended up staying awake until around 1:30ish just talking. and then i hung out with her at her apt the next morning until Trent and Kasey came to get me. Friday afternoon i hung out with Kasey and we went and visited with her twin sister Katie at her work and had lunch with her. Friday night I went back to my cousin Ericas and we hung out and watched Made of Honor. Then Melissa got into town from Rexburg so we went and met up with Trent and Kasey and Katie and her husband for some dinner late at night. Saturday morning Me, Melissa, Trent, Kasey, Katie and Tyler and Kaseys parents all went to the morning session of conference. It was al our first times going, so it was a pretty cool experience. We were up in the balcony, so really all those who spoke just looked like little dots down below..but still its the thought that counts. Saturday afternoon after morning session, we went to Red Robins for some food, adn then Amanda and her fam came and picked me and Melissa up to head up to Logan. We went to Amandas aunt and uncles house and hung out there with her cousins..and then us kiddos drove to Tremonton and they dropped me off at Julie and Tyler Barnes house...friends of mine. I stayed the night there..and then hung out with them all of a sunday until later in the evening. They drove me back to Salt Lake where we met up with my bro trent and kasey. Us 3 went and visited with my Aunt Gail and uncle Kay and Grandma Stutz for a bit. It was good seeing them again. It was a fun weekend, and being able to see poeple again was even better.

Camping at Sisters OR

About a month ago, me, my mom and dad, Trent, Kasey and Amanda went to stay in the cabin at sisters. So i dont know if you would really call it camping, but whatever it was, it was fun. Sisters Oregon is a small cute little town right outside Bend Oregon. I love Sisters. The view from the cabin is amazing everytime, but the weekend we were there the weather was perfect, minus the wind gusts. but still, it was beautiful. The first night we went and walked around sisters to all the little different shops, and then we went to a Native American festival which was pretty sweet. Once Trent and Kasey got into town we went to Bend to go miniture golfing...which was freezing cold since it was outside..but who cares it was still fun. That sunday we went to church at the very very small branch they had in sisters. The rest of the time in Sisters was filled with lots of longboarding since their is some pretty good hills outside the cabin, as well as playing tennis and basketball out on the tennis court/basketball court behind the cabin.

YSA BEACH CLEAN UP

Saturday we met up with the YSA for a beach clean up and other activites..it was a lot of fun. We spent like an hour and a half cleaning it up eventhough there was hardly anything to clean. Me and Amanda found a dead bird and that was about it..so I picked it up as seen in the pic above..and we stuck it in our bag. we also found a jellyfish..but thats a no go on picking that up. It stingsin case you didnt know. Then we went over to Honeymon park where we spent the rest of the day in the lake. We had to do a challenge where they gave us cardboard, duck tape and plastic..and build a boat out of it. Our team dominated..we built our boat and then I got nominated to go out and float it on the lake since no one else would..so iwent out there and won the race! and our boat didnt even sink at all..it was awesome. they also had a huge waterslide they made out of a tarp that went down the sandunes into the lake..so fun. I dont have any pics of it..but it was amazing. Me and John and Griffin went jumping off the sand cliff into the lake that is seen in the pics above..a little freaky, but way to much fun. The last thing we did that day before we headed home was went sandboarding down the dunes. Me, Amanda, John and Griffin all did it, and that was some good times. We waxed our boards up and rode down the dunes. It's like a combination of longboarding and skimboarding. 2 of my favorite things!

Friday night we went to Florence on the Oregon Coast about an hour away from our house..and we went camping. It was perfect weather, and we camped right next to the sandunes. So friday night we went and jumped the dunes and had fun messing around in those. It was so hard to climb up the dunes..I found it easier to just run up them. and the sunset was amazing, cause it reflected right on the ocean. So pretty. I love the Oregon Coast. The one thing I dont know if i could live without the ocean or mountains..thats what i love about Oregon. you can get the mountains or ocean within just an hour. love it!

Saturday after we got back from camping, the 7 of us that stayed the night all went out to Rigby Lake to swim..It was packed there..but a lot of fun. Melissa got super sunburned there..and so did some of the others. Luckily I walked away with haardly anything. One of the nice things is I dont get burned..but i have gotton pretty tan this summer. the water was perfect temperature. One weird thing about swimming at this lake is that you rarely see a girl in a bikini. Everyone is dressed pretty modestly at this lake since a quarter of it was BYU I college students. This lake was defiently not as good as Honeysuckle beach back in the good ol days though. Just another reason to love Idaho!

This past weekend we went camping at Beaver Dick. It was a lot of fun, until about 5:30 in the morning when we woke up freezing our lives out. We lit off fireworks though and played some games around the fire. We were basically the only group out at beaver dick..so we had music and all that playing too. There was about 13 of us there, but only 7 stayed the night. We slept out on some tarps with just our blankets over us. Its the best way to camp especially when your a poor college student. We roasted smores and hot dogs, and played with glow sticks. It was a fun last camping trip of the semester.

On saturday night me, Amanda and Griffin went to Guitars Unplugged here at BYU I. they have it every semester, and i went last year to. It was tons of fun, and those that performed were pretty good. Everything is mostly acoustic which I love. Its all done by students who have to first audition to get into it. Of course almost every song that was played was about dating..go figure. thats what you get at BYU.

Memorial Weekend me and some of my roomates and our friend Griffin went camping. We had to go sunday night since all of us worked that weekend, and had monday off. It was tons of fun! We were lucky to be able to find a camping spot since half the campground was flooded. But we found a perfect spot next to an open field. We had no tent, and for our fire we used wood that we found behind the grocery store and a pile of the Scroll..which is our schools weekly paper. along with a lot of lighter fluid. But it worked out perfect! We layed out a tarp and all of us slept on it with just blankets. and lucky for us it didnt rain like it was suppost to. That night also, we pulled a little prank. Their was a outhouse next to our campsite, so that night Melissa went out to use it. She went by herself, but once she got in their, I snuck up next to the outhouse and waited until she got out..she stepped out and started walking behind her..then i scared th eliving daylights out of her. I think she could of almost peed her pants..good thing she already went! Early in the morning we noticed it was pretty windy, but all of us girls were sleeping. Griffin woke up and decided to make a fire..just a small one. It died out, and he went back to sleep. But the next thing we know, my roomate Ginna was waking up with a ball of fire next to her head and trying to put it out with my shoe. It was way funny.

This weekend has been extremly hot and dry..it hit 87 degrees yesterday. All day yesterday i spent outside..literally. And now i have a pretty good farmers tan if i do say so myself. Friday I didnt have to work so that evening we went to a baseball game with a whole bunch of kids, and sat out there for a good 2 hours. Then after that we ended up heading to Beaver Dick Park just like 15 minutes outside of Rexburg. Its a park thats right by the snake river and you can go kayaking and canoeing in it and all that. We had a campfire there that night, a whole group of us. And some kids even spent the night and camped out, but we ended up going home for the night since we didnt have a tent. Saturday I woke up and i ended up riding bikes with Hanna to Walmart, then right when we got home we went for a run where we about died..not really though. but we came back sweating like we never have before. it was a blast. About an hour and half later I went to go sell my plasma, but my pulse ended up being to high for it which was ridiculous. So i gotta go back tomorrow. That afternoon me and melissa and amanda met hanna and rachel and mindy back at beaver dick park and layed out on the dock there and just relaxed and talked. Plus we played some frisbee. We're defiently enjoying the hot weather here though, and it better stay!

This past week it has been great weather wise. We had a thunderstorm/lightning storm this past week, and then its been raining almost everday. but then about 2 days ago we got some snowflakes falling from the sky. So i'm not really sure if you could call this spring if it still snows in May..who knows. Anyways, not a whole lot has happened this past week. I worked everynight until 9pm, so after that i'm pretty much tired. I also went and gave plasma this past week. So far i've been fine with giving plasma..havent passed out or anything. My friend that I went with yesterday to give with, she passed out, but that was the second time in a row its happened. I think she's probably done giving plasma...but as for me I will continue! It takes about an hour for me to donate mine. You just sit in a chair while the plasma and blood pump out of you, then once they have enough plasma, the blood gets put back into you. It's tons of fun..haha actually I just love the money. Besides all of that..we just do a whole lot of laughing here in our spare time..actually we dont even need spare time to laugh. we just do it whenever! It's the only way to keep us from going crazy with school and all that fun stuff.

These last couple of days here it has been pretty dang hot..but it feels awesome. We can actually go outside without having to wear a coat..now if they only allowed flip flops and shorts. Life would be so much better. It is extremely hot when running and you sweat like no other..its ridiculous. I really want to buy a longboard..really really really bad. Tons of people have them here, and since I love riding longboard...i've come to the conclusion that I'm going to buy one. Lets see..this past saturday we went to the sand dunes with a whole bunch of kids and had a bonfire. We had hot dogs, and smores and jumped off sand dunes. It was awesome. I came home smelling like a campfire and my pockets in my pants filled with sand...really cold sand. Me, melissa and amanda are going to try and go camping there sometime this summer in the designated camping areas. Sunday we went to church and then came home and made some dinner cause we were starving. We made a chicken brocolli casserole..it was scrumptious! My ward this semester is pretty chill it seems. I already knew some people in it, just from knowing them from classes last semester or driving with them to boise or salt lake. But i think i'll like my ward this semester. Thats about all that is happening thus far..all i know is that I gotta go to class soon..and its boring.

The weather is starting to get a lot better here. Today it was really hot and very nice. Perfect Temperature. So me and Hanna decided to go running today. We ran the course that we did for the 5k plus 2 more miles. It was awesome. I love running. There is a 5k race as part of the Dam Marathon here in Rexburg next month, but it costs $30.00. I really want to do it though. There is also the Midinight 5k next month which i will for sure be doing, then the Liberty 5k race on the 4th of July which I will prob end up doing. I wish Derek and Shawny were still in Boise so then we could run some races together. So i guess I will have to run one sometime in Texas..but hopefully I wont die of heat exhaustion! Anyways, while running me and Hanna were talking about how much we love Rexburg. So yeah i've realized that Rexburg is amazing. I love the small town feel and even though there's not a whole lot to do at time, there's always something going on somewhere. Plus I've met some great people that I know I will always keep in contact with even after college. Plain and simple I love Idaho, and always have. I love Coeur D' Alene, but now Rexburg is a favorite for Idaho...Coeur D' Alene still top! I'm glad I chose to come to school here though. I also started my new job on tuesday and I love it! I actually think its a fun job cause you get to talk to some fun people but of course there is still some that hang up on you. oh well let it happen. I give plasma along with my job, cause its free money for just sitting there. Love it! Tonight we are going to go play some night games in the gardens with Hanna and Kati and some others..should be fun. Thats a bout it.

Last week was the start of sumer semester, but it didint seem to much like summer. It snowed here last week for a couple of day, then it goes to rain then it turns to sun. It basically just repeats that. this past weekend the weather actually stayed really nice. I think we got up to the 60's..but of course its suppost to drop back down. Other than that the school part is going good. My classes I think may be a little easier this semester, but i'm still trying to figure that out since it is only the beginning. I'm taking American Heritage, Math, Religion, Biology and Humanities. They are mostly just lecture classes, so you just sit their and take notes. Kind of boring. i'm living in a different apartment then I lived in last semester. I now live at colonial house, and i like it a lot better. The whole apt. complex seems to be better. I am rooming with 2 friends from back in Oregon and that has been a lot of fun. Then my other 3 roomates are pretty chill as well. I got a job here last week. I work at the BYUI Alumni building. I call people asking for donations to the Alumni fund. I start today, so we'll see how it goes. I get way above minimum wage for Idaho so thats a good thing. I'm also going to start donating plasma. Fun ways to earn money! While not in class, we usually go play frisbee, or basketball, or I go running. It'll be better once the summer weather is here.

Weekend in Provo..

This past weekend i decided to go to provo for 3 days to hang with trent. It was a lot of fun and it was good to get away for a bit. Friday night we went up to this cabin with the Mattson kids and some others. It was lovated kind of by the Timpanogos Caves. There was no running water, the toilet didnt work, and our heat up there was a fire and a few space heaters. I loved it! It was just like camping and my favorite was coming home smelling like a campfire! We even roasted marshmallows and hot dogs, and Saturday morning we were able to watch the morning session of General Conference at the cabin. We went home after the morning session was over. Then me and Trent went back to his aptartment and watched the rest of conference for the day. That night we met up with Erica since thats where I was staying the night, and we watched I Am Legend and made cookies and just hung out at her apt. Sunday morning Trent came back to Ericas and we watched mornign conference with her, and one of her roomates even cooked some cinnamon rolls, but they werent as good as moms! for the afternoon session of conference we went to Aunt gails to visit with them and Grandma and even ate some dinner over there. It was then time fro me to leave and go back to Rexburg for one last week of school. I have 1 more day of classes then this semester is over and i get to come home for a few days!

On Friday Night their was a 5k midnight race here. So i decided to do it cause I have come to love running since i've been here. the weather was perfect when the race started. the course was first we had to go around the track twice, then the next part was a hill that was killer..but i made it! then it went up to the temple and down the huge hill by the temple..I am just glad that was downhill..cause that hill is a tought one to run up. once I got to the temple the rest of the race was pretty easy and fun to finish. It was also an amazing view of all of Rexburg up running by the temple. Then once we got back to the track we had to go around it one more time then sprint your little heart out to the end! I finished the race in 26 minutes 40 seconds! It felt awesome to finish it. I would defiently do another race. After the whole race was over..like immediatl after, all this snow started falling and it started to rain. Plus the wind picked up like crazy. So glad it wasnt like that during the race! But i also think i got a little sick from running..oh well!..oh and p.s. make sure to read the post below this one cause its new!

A couple of us went up to the sledding hill just about a block away from out apt. We went their to go play frisbee cause the weather today was amazing. When we got to the hill we noticed a tunnel that someone had made..like an actual tunnel that you could through. It was pretty cool so we messed around with that for awhile. No one was at the hill except us so that was nice. Then later we went to go see the movie Vantage point which is about the president getting shot then they try to find our who the killer is. I really liked it. Everyone should go see it. plus it was only $3 to see it here. As we were walking home we all of a sudden heard a huge noise like guns shots..which freaked us out since we just got out of a movie that was about shooting..but the noise was just kids lettin off a ice explosion thing also called ice bombs. it was awesome. Once we got back to our apt we noticed that their was a ambulance and police outside so we went to check that out. A girl had a seizure and she wasnt coming out of it..meaning she was totally knocked out of it. I saw them bring her out on a stretcher and at first me and hanna thought she was dead cause they had a cloth thing over her whole body..but from what we know she was just out of it. So that was pretty freaky. I also went with chad to Wal Mart to pick up some things today..so that was way nice of him to take me and hanna. Anyways, thats been my Saturday!

First off the reason i havent posted a blog for forever is because my internet has been messed up. Anyways, I have been counting down the days till I come home..and we're at 16! I cant wait to come home and see fam and hang out with friends! Nothing to exciting has happened since i've last posted though. Lets see, a few sundays ago i had to give a talk in sacrament meeting and it went pretty well. Last sunday for easter we made hot cross buns and colored eggs..and the night before I went out with some people like katie, rachelle and nicole from next door and some others and we went and played night games. WE played hide and go seek and sardines in the gardens here on campus. It was like 11:00 when we played so it was pretty cold and their was still a lot of snow packed on the ground. Funny Story from it though..when we started to play hide and go seek me and katie started going off in the same direction to hide. We were both trying to run as fast as we could in the snow but it was hard..so i ended up biffing it in the snow and then as i was getting up katie kept running ahead a little bit and all of a sudden al i hear is the sound of ice breaking. She ended up running into a pond and falling into it..it was so stinkin funny. We both started busting up laughing cause the pond stunk really bad..but no one else was around cause they were all hiding. Anyways I thought it was funny. the snow is starting to melt here though, but everyonce in awhile we get a couple inches of snow like today. its crazy weather here. i cant wait for summer..its gonna be a lot of fun! I'm switching apartments for summer so i can room with some friends back home. i'm super excited for that! this Friday I am going to run a 5k race..it should be pretty fun, but i;m kind of nervous. Its a midnight run so we start at 12:00 and you gotta be done by 1:00am cause thats curfew. So i'll let you all know how it goes. Hanna is going to run it to, along with rachelle and nicole next door i think. I'm hoping that for conference weekend I can go to Provo and hang out with Trent for a couple of days. Hopefully i can find a ride cause I really want to go down there!!! thats about all that is happening here for now..

Temple Dedication

Today was the dedication of the Rexburg Temple and it was an awesome experience. Pres. Monson, Elder Bednar, and Elder Nelson were the one's in attendance, and Pres. Monson was the one who dedicated it. He is an amazing man, and will be a great prophet. It was funny cause as they were doing the cornerstone, he was crackin all these jokes, and i was laughin so hard. It was hilarious. We watched it in this room in the manwaring center, and it was cool cause the room we were in, we were told that it was being treated as a room in the temple. I thought that was pretty cool. We did the hosana shout which Elder Bednar led us in. Elder Bednar actually talked a lot during it since he was the president of BYU I Do once upon a time..and I guess he helped choose the spot where the temple should be placed. He was pretty emotional during it. We were encouraged to write our testimonies in our journals, but since i dont keep a journal and this little blog thing is kind of it..here ya go.

I realized today how grateful I am to be going to a church school, and how the spirit here is amazing. In classes, or anywhere you go the spirit is always there. I was thinkin if i would of gone to boise state or any other school on my list, that I wouldnt be getting the experiences that I am having here. I wouldnt of been able to go to the temple dedication, or the devotionals each week, and also where else can you have an opening prayer before class starts. This really is the Lords school. I am grateful to be able to have a temple here that i can see everytime I step outside. And cant wait till one day..(years from now)..when I can be able to get married for eternity in the lords house. I am thankful for family, and how they are always their to support you. Eventhough our family has had it ups and downs with moving or whatever it may be, we always trust in the lord and he always knows whats best. All though I dont want to move again, if its what the lord wants.. we do it. I realized that i'll always have my friends no matter where I go. I know this church is true and I am thankful for a living prophet here on this earth today to lead us and guide us. And for the scriptures, that where ever you turn in em, their is always an answer. I love this gospel and am thankful for all that it gives me.

And i miss family...

I realized this past week that school is a lot tougher than i thought it would be. A lot of studying and loads of Homework. I expected that, but it doesnt hit ya until it actually comes. I had to take 2 tests today, both at which i did really well. But i ended up staying up way to late last night studying for one of them..so i fell asleep on the couch. I havent slept a lickin ever since i've been here, and honestly i couldnt tell ya why. Tonight I went over to chad's apartment for a little bit to say hi. For those reading this, Chad is my sis-in-law kristina's brother. It was a good visit, and i even took him some cookies! On the way their, I slipped on the steps really bad, and landed right on top of them killin my back. It pretty much hurts right now. this week is spirit week here, whatever that means. I havent really seen anything happen, but i think their should be some activites coming up. Actually I thik i'm suppost to be in some Snowshoe race tomorrow. This past week I have also realized that i actually miss oregon and back home..i miss home cooked meals..family, friends, old ward, and of course the bike trail behind our house..and my bike! Running on a treadmill everyday gets a little boring..So if anyone wants to offer me a plane ticket back home for the weekend..also CONGRATULATIONS DEREK AND SHAWNY! I GOT ANOTHER NEPHEW!..TUCKER ROWAN!

The past couple of days have been pretty uneventful. I've been tryin to study for tests, since I have a bunch this week..thats been fun..not. but I have also been doing a lot of drawing in my spare time. That would be what the pics are above. The other day we had a pretty bad wind storm. Walking to class was the pits cause sometimes you had to catch your breath the wind was so strong, and then you'd see people being swept off their feet fallin onto the ground..it was crazy. It has warmed up quite a bit though..it is now 20 degrees. Anyways thats about all that has happened..nothin exciting.

Here's a personal story bout Pres.Hinckley that I remember:

I went with dad years ago to Utah cause he had a job interview their..We decided to go to the Joseph Smith building for church that sunday and we sat down in the chairs in the sacrament meeting room just like normal folks..then all of a sudden Pres. Hinckley walked in and went and sat on the stage. It ended up being his ward!! It was awesome and a experience I wont forget.

Last night, we were pretty bored. So I had an idea to jump off the 2nd balcony into the pile of snow..the snow was pretty piled, and it wasnt that far of a jump. So, me, Jennifer and Saundra decided to go for it. I loved it! Defiently my way of having fun. Then after jumpin off a couple times, I decided to just mess around in the snow..they all thought it was to cold, but personally I love the cold and snow!! I did a few headstands in the snow, made a snow angel, and we tried to get action shots on the camera, but they didnt turn out to well. But we did get some good ones jumpin off the balcony. Like i've said before..you gotta find your own ways of havin fun here. The Temp here is pretty low..right now as i type this the temp is 2 degrees..cold. On tuesday the temp was -20 degrees and our front door to our apt was frozen shut. It's fun stuff!...oh and did i mention I was in the latest edition of National Geographic?..you should all go pick yourself up a copy.

This past weekend we had a 3 day weekend cause of MLK. Trent came up on sunday morning and stayed till monday afternoon. It was fun just hangin with him and seein him. He went to church with me on sunday, and he even got to see an elder from his mission there, since the elder is in my ward. Then that night we went over to these one kids house where we made dinner for myself, trent, kami mattson, melissa, and these other kids that were friends of kami. After dinner we went to stadium singing in spanish. ..its where you go under the stadium and sing in spanish. It was really cold, and i dont even know spanish..but it was a good experience. Monday I Stayed home in the morning and worked on homework while trent and his friends went to the temple open house. After that we decided to make a quick trip over to Brian Millers apartment to chat with him. Then after trent took me to the grocery store to get some food, and then they had to head back to provo. It was fun though havin him here. later on monday me, my roomate jennifer, and hanna went sledding..the only problem is we didnt have a sled. but we went anyways. When we got to the sledding hill we found this red sled that was broken and cracked..so we used it and it worked perfect! now its hangin on our wall in our apartment..haha. We also took a plastic garbage bag and found some cardboard and made a snowboard out of it..that was prob the most fun to ride. Sledding is really the only exciting thing to do here in the winter..but its fun. Thats about all that has happened here in the past couple of days..

Busy Weeked

The past two days has been pretty busy, but fun. Friday I had classes of course..not the fun part of the weekend..but Friday night I hung out with some friends. Me, my roomate Jennifer (From Wisconsin), and this boy Kyle all went to a pizza place on campus cause we were really hungry from working out. Yes we worked out and then went and grabbed a greasy slice of pizza! It was good and really cheap. Then we went back to another friends(saundra's) apartment who lives in the same complex as me. Just us 3 girls were suppost to go back to our apartment..but when we got to our door it was locked and neither me or jennifer had a key on us. So We had to wait at Saundras for forever! Finally one of our roomates came back and we were able to get in. So then the 3 of us built a frickin awesome fort in our living room. We used mattresses, bed frames, sheets, and blankets, along with the couches. We built it around the tv so that we could watch a movie too that night. We also slept in it that night. So that was my fort building experience. Then Saturday I hung out with Julie and Tyler Barnes..(Sis.Love and her husband). It was a lot of fun. We went to the temple open house early saturday morning (the 3rd time i've been, but you learn something new each time). After the temple we went to go get some breakfast at a restaurant called Frontier pie's. It was a buffett breakfast, so that was a plus! We then headed back to her Aunt and Uncle's house who live just 15 minutes outside Rexburg. I learned two things there..how to snowmobile and i learned what a potatoe pit is. First the Snowmobiling. I loved it! Its a lot of fun, and it was pretty easy since we were just riding in this big open field behind their house that was all flat ground. I was able to drive the snowmobile by myself and everything adn then at the end I got to drive and take it to this little gas station along with others to fill em back up! And here in Idaho they dont call them snowmobiles..they call them "Snowmachines"..weird. Next we went to about 10 potato pits..And if you dont know what a potato pit is then well here ya go..Basically its a HUGE shed like thing that is about the sixe of a football field filled with potatoes. This family owns tons and tons of them. First we went to a pit that holds red potatos, then gold ones, then brown. Wnd we got to pick tons while we were at it. As weird as it sounds, it was actually a lot of fun. Anyways, that was my life on friday and saturday. And today trent is comin up! And he'll be here today and tomorrow since there's no school tomorrow!!!

Just when I get all caught up on homework over the weekend..they go and throw more at ya! Not liking it one bit..I just got done taking like 3 pages of notes and that about killed me. Today I only had 2 classes. My first class was at 7:45 am..which i dont mind to much cause its my favorite class. the class is called Fit for Life, so today we had to run the 1.5 mile around the indoor track at the hart building. It was a lot of fun I thought, and I ended up getting the best time out of my class and finised first so i got to go home like a half hour early..at the end of the semester we will be tested on it again to see if we can beat our own time. Then later on in the afternoon I had my Book Of Mormon religion class and that to is a pretty good class cause the teacher makes it good. After Book Of Mormon their was the Tuesday devotional. It's a big thing here since the whole campus shuts down and they make sure their is no classes scheduled during that time. I actually was able to find a seat in the Hart Auditorum where it takes place..but flip the place is packed! You can even watch it from other buildings on campus. In the picture you can see how full it was in the Hart Auditorium. A couple hours later I went back to the indoor track to run some more with one of my roomates, Jennifer. Plus we even tried some cycling which is pretty fun. Other than that not much else happened tonight besides A LOT of reading and note taking..its the worst. It has to be done sometime i suppose...and in the pic below to explain it..its a hair extension that we found in the laundry room...its real hair too..and yes it was brand new in the package..

The icicle from last night..it was huge!!!

Today I woke up with fog and lots of snow outside..it was kind of pretty. But then we had to walk in it to get to church..not so pretty. Most of this morning I was working on my religion class homework..and thank goodness I got it done. So now I currently have no homework to do which is amazing..but come tomorrow of course i'll be slammed with more. Tonight i actually had a real meal..prob the best since i've been here. Me, my roomate from wisconsin, and this other girl from another apartment made cordon bleu and mashed potatoes for everyone. It was good, and i was suprised it turned out. Then after dinner we just sat around and messed around playing with the nerf gun and everything..it was fun. But now everyones studying so i'm kind of bored..i guess thats why you have a blog. Today we also covered one of our walls in the family room with tin foil..it looks really cool. And you can write on it with dry erase markers..so its got a lot of pics drawn on it right now..and whoever comes and visits our apartment signs it..its awesome. you can see it in the pics below..anyways thats about it for today..back to classes tomorrow..woo hoo.
